The Commonwealth dropped assault and battery charges today against award winning journalist Dr. Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney in Dedham District Court, cancelling a scheduled status hearing that was to be held at 9 AM this morning. Everyone knows the charges were completely bogus and made up, but now even the Commonwealth seems to be admitting that they don’t believe any of it happened either. They knew that if they moved forward with these charges that the deceitful complainant would have to take the stand and would be exposed as a liar, just as she was at the January 8 restraining order hearing. The Commonwealth knows that this would weaken their other bogus charges in Superior Court for witness intimidation against this same individual, so they elected not to move forward with it.
These charges were brought forward by the Commonwealth for 3 reasons:
- As a mechanism to revoke my bail and hold me in jail for 60 days.
- As a tool to turn the lying complainant into a “witness” and add another witness intimidation charge to the pile.
- As a way to get the lying complainant to obtain a restraining order, knowing that they plan on setting me up for some sort of fraudulent violation in the future in the hopes of sending me back to jail.
In doing this today the Commonwealth admitted that the 60 days I spent in jail were for absolutely nothing. I was not convicted of a crime and never will be, yet I have spent more time in prison then most convicted criminals. My freedom and liberty were robbed of me by corrupt cops and a corrupt District Attorney’s Office, both of which are under federal investigation, because I was too effective at exposing them. I will never get those 60 days of my life back, and I have suffered irreparable emotional and physical harm as a result.
I will continue to abide by the RO, obey the law, and express my First Amendment rights as an activist and a journalist uncovering corruption in the Karen Read case. I look forward to today’s hearing at 2 PM in the Read case, and I know that justice is coming.
