Somerville Woman Who Left Dog Parked In Hot Car Identified As Christine Krahe

Last week I published a blog about a Somerville woman who left her dog in a 90 degree car with the windows up in Somerville while she went shopping for at least 30 minutes. When she returned to her car she was confronted by a man with a camera who had called the police and animal control. Naturally she found a way to victimize herself by claiming that she was having a “panic attack.”

As it turns out a turtle rider on the Clarence Woods Emerson Facebook page identified her as an ex-girlfriend, and said that her behavior on that video was consistent with his personal experiences with her. He also had an explanation for why she chooses to wear Scream style galoshes in late May.

No judgement.

The offender’s name is Christina Krahe, and she’s a local resident in her late 30’s. She has several Facebook pages using her real name, along with another one using the name Christine Stella Harmony. This page has images of her with the dog in the video, confirming it is in fact her.

Pray for Bubble.

Some might frown upon vigilantism like you saw in the video, or even accuse us of “doxxing.” However, this isn’t about her. It’s about the safety of dogs and spreading public awareness that leaving them in hot cars is unacceptable. If the fear of being publicly shamed like this can keep just one person from keeping their dog in a virtual oven like that, then it’s proof that public shaming is an effective deterrent for dangerous behavior.
